Over the past several weeks garden seed catalogs have been showing up in our mailbox and I have set them aside in their basket until after the holidays when I can spend delightful amounts of time browsing, marking new varieties to try, planning the gardens of 2020, and preparing orders. Yesterday afternoon I had pulled all of my seed files out to take inventory of what we have on hand to set the stage for the planning to come. That task helps to keep my rational self on board with this process. Those beautiful seed catalog photos make it just so tempting to buy way more than is reasonable to think of growing in any single season! Even so, planning is nearly half the fun and these winter evenings in front of the fire with my seed catalogs and graph paper make for some fun times.
